HCX Connector - Unable to upgrade an license with the error "Invalid Activation key or Activation key update not allowed for the appliance"

Issue/Introduction

• The HCX Connector has site pairing to two different Hyperscalers.
• The initial deployment and site pairing includes only the HCX Advanced features.
• When upgrading the license on the HCX Connector to enable a feature such as MON (Mobility Optimized Networking) which is available on the other Hyperscaler, the following error is generated: "Invalid activation key or activation key update not allowed for the appliance."

Cause

This is due to specific restrictions set by the hyperscaler for licensing 

Resolution

This issue is resolved in VMware HCX 4.11 available at Broadcom Downloads .
