The purpose of this article is to provide the process of upgrading Aria Operations for Networks within an Aria LCM environment. The instructions provided will be applicable whether or not VCF (VMware Cloud Foundation) is deployed.
VMware Aria Operations for Networks
VMware vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager
Begin by verifying the required Aria LCM version which supports the upgrade AON version, and SDDC Manager version (applicable in a VCF deployment) using the interop matrix site provided below.
https://interopmatrix.broadcom.com/Interoperability?col=337,&row=851,%26285,
Review the Aria LCM product support pack release notes to confirm the required Product Support Pack level needed to support your desired AON version.
Please note that the Aria LCM version is compatible with specific VCF versions as included in the VMware Cloud Foundation bill of materials. Verify this compatibility by checking the interop matrix site provided below.
You might be using the flexible vRealize Suite product, available from VCF 4.4.0 onwards. This product enables customers to upgrade their vRealize Suite beyond what is included in the VMware Cloud Foundation bill of materials. For more details, refer to the KB article linked below.

Review the instructions to upgrade AON using Aria LCM. Below is a sample document link that describes the procedure for upgrading AON using Aria LCM 8.18.
Please note that online upgrades are no longer available; only offline upgrade methods are supported. For more details, refer to the KB article linked below.

Please note that the AON upgrade file extension is .bundle, unlike other Aria products such as Aria Operations for Logs and Automation Config, which use the .PAK extension. This is an expected behaviour and not a change in product design.
You will require to upload the .bundle file into Aria LCM and map the product binary using SCP client such as WinSCP if there is no NFS remote server available. Please refer to the document linked below for more information.
If there is no supported or compatible Aria LCM deployed and you wish to upgrade AON, please follow the process described in the KB article below which bypass Aria LCM. Otherwise, both VCF and Aria LCM need to be upgraded to a supported version before upgrading AON.
