Input Validation Failure during Download from MyVMware account

Environment

  • Aria Suite Lifecycle 8.x
  • vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager 8.x

Cause

  • Following the VMware by Broadcom Day 2 transition on May 6, 2024, Customer Connect has been migrated to the Broadcom Support. This migration impacts the VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle as follows:

    • All Product Support Packs, along with product and patch binaries, will now need to be downloaded from the Broadcom Support Portal

    • Users must then manually map these into the VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle

    • Additionally, all online download methods previously available in the VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle will be disabled in the user interface upon upgrading to our next release.

Resolution

To resolve the issue download the content directly from the Broadcom support portal and upload/map in Aria Suite Lifecycle manually:

1.  Download the content from the Broadcom Support Portal

2. For Product Support Packs you can upload via UI under Settings > Product Support Pack. To download product support packs/patches from the download portal navigate to VMware Aria Universal > Solutions tab -> license version > Subscription

For product binaries transfer the file to the LCM appliance itself under /Data directory or to a locally hosted repository.

3. Navigate to Settings > Binary Mapping under Location type select the relevant option, then DISCOVER and ADD

4. Proceed with the Upgrade

Additional Information

The issue is also highlighted in the Aria Suite Lifecycle 8.16 Release Notes
