Node has invalid version 4.1.2.4.0.23786738 of software nsx-sfhc observed on fresh installation of NSX on bare metal Windows Server

Issue/Introduction

• Windows Server has been prepared for NSX.
• Few moments after the installation successfully completes, status of the server will be "Install Failed" with the following error:
  Node has invalid version 4.1.2.4.0.23786738 of software nsx-sfhc.
• In the UI, the failure would be presented as below:
  
• "Resolve" will fix the status for short period of time, after that the node will be in "Install Failed" state again.

Environment

• VMware NSX 4.1.x
• A bare metal Windows Server being prepared for NSX.

Resolution

This is a known issue, impacting preparation of Microsoft Windows bare metal server for NSX. 

Currently, there is no workaround.

For VLAN, this issue is resolved in VMware NSX 4.2.0 and higher, available at Broadcom Downloads.
