Environment

VMware vCenter Converter Standalone 6.x

Cause

This issue occurs due to the following reasons,

  1. When the helper virtual machine gets automatically assigned IPv6 address, while the environment is not configured for IPv6.
  2. When the helper virtual machine unable to get the IPv4 address automatically

Resolution

Perform the following steps to proceed with the successful conversion:

  1. Disable the IPv6 option by unchecking the box under helper VM network configuration

      2. Manually assign the IPv4 static IP address to the helper virtual machine. Make sure that the IP address you specify for the helper virtual machine is not already in use on the network.

     3. Proceed with the P2V conversion
