Unable to migrate virtual machine "Could not find matching networks" in a large-scale environment using the HCX Manager UI.

Issue/Introduction

• The vCenter contains a large number of hosts and a large network inventory, with approximately 4,000+ networks.
• The HCX Manager UI is slow to respond when the inventory is being loaded.
• Once the HCX Manager UI responds, the "Map Virtual Machine Networks" option does not display any networks to be selected and shows the message: "Could not find matching networks"

Cause

The HCX Manager cannot render the large inventory (Distributed Virtual Port Group) of the vCenter.

 

Resolution

This issue is resolved in VMware HCX 4.11 available at Broadcom Downloads .

Workaround:
Use the HCX REST API to specify the network mapping as part of performing VM migration.
