Where to Download vmss2core

Issue/Introduction

• The vmss2core can be downloaded as a standalone utility in the Free Downloads section of Broadcom Support Portal (BSP)
• It is also bundled with VMware Workstation Pro and VMware Fusion

Note: The version of vmss2core available in the Free Downloads section of Broadcom support portal is an older version and does not support Windows 11 and Windows Server 2025. For these operating systems, use the version bundled with VMware workstation pro or VMware Fusion.

Environment

VMware vSphere ESXi
VMware Workstation 
VMware Fusion

Resolution

• Log in to the Broadcom Support portal.
• Select the VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) Division from the dropdown menu next to your username
• Go to My Downloads
• Select "Free Software Downloads available HERE"

• Select Flings

• Search for vmss2core and select the version available under the Release section

• Read the Terms and Conditions by clicking on the "Terms and Conditions" link.
• Check the box before "I agree to the Terms and Conditions"

• Download the required vmss2core utility for your operating system

Note: vmss2core is bundled with VMware Workstation Pro and VMware Fusion and can be located at the following directories

• Windows (32-bit):
  C:\Program Files\VMware\VMware Workstation\

• Windows (64-bit):
  C:\Program Files (x86)\VMware\VMware Workstation\

• Linux:
  /usr/bin/

• macOS (Fusion):
  /Library/Application Support/VMware Fusion/
