Unable to extract dvsID for lport in ESXi host / transport node logs configured for VMware NSX

Issue/Introduction

• VMware NSX with version prior to 4.0.1 is deployed.
• ESXi hosts are prepared for VMware NSX.
• A vNIC is attached to a Segment that belongs to a Tier-1 Gateway.
• Entries similar to the below are observed on the ESXi host in var/run/log/nsx-syslog:

Environment

VMware NSX 4.x.

VMware NSX-T Data Center 3.x.

Cause

This is a cosmetic issue with no functional impact. The issue is encountered as nsx-exporter uses nsx-cfgagent command to get logical port information when it exports logical port statistics from the ESXi host / transport node to the Management Plane, but for LogicalRouterDownLinkPort, there is no DVS ID, which results in this entry being encountered. 

Resolution

This issue is resolved in VMware NSX 4.0.1 and later, available at Broadcom downloads.
