Issue/Introduction
Prerequisites to be followed before opening proactive Aria Operations for Networks (AON) upgrade Cases:
Cases must be opened 10 business days in advance of the upgrade window.
Cases should be opened as Severity 4.
Upgrade prechecks must be run in advance and any issues that cannot be resolved must be reported.
Collect the Aria Operations for Networks support bundle/logs from all the platform(s) and collector(s), as well as the precheck results as screenshots to upload to the proactive case.
Read the target version of the release notes and be aware of known issues.
Confirm the target Aria Operations for Networks version is compatible with other products in the environment. Also, confirm the Aria Operations for Networks upgrade path is supported. Refer to the Upgrade Path page of the Interoperability Matrix.
Validate Aria Operations for Network backups are being taken. If running a cluster of platforms, follow this article Backup/Snapshot clustered deployments.
If a bespoke upgrade runbook is being followed, ensure it is aligned with the official Upgrade documentation.
Broadcom advises to upgrade to the latest available version of either 6.12 or 6.13 See the Release Notes for more information.
VMware by Broadcom Support will:
Ensure precheck issues are resolved.
Validate the target version and advise if a newer one is available.
Review Aria Operations for Networks logs for known issues that may impact the upgrade.
If a proactive case is not raised with sufficient notice of 10 days, it will NOT be possible to offer log review and precheck resolution within the planned timeframes.

Back to back upgrades for Aria Operations for Networks on the same day is not recommended. There should be a minimum gap of 8-10 hours between upgrade operations.
