Issue/Introduction
The pre-check fails with the "NSX Audit not connected compute managers validator failed." error.
A similar issue is observed with the transport nodes, which also fail with the "NSX audit not connected transport nodes" error.
Upon checking the NSX Manager, we observe that the status of the specified transport nodes is listed as degraded:
Environment
VMware Cloud Foundation 4.5.2 VMware Cloud Foundation 5.1.1
Cause
The "NSX audit not connected compute managers" error occurs when the Compute Manager connection in NSX is in a DOWN state.
The "NSX audit not connected transport nodes" error occurs when transport nodes have connectivity issues and are in a degraded state.
Resolution
Address any Transport Node connectivity issues
Confirm the Compute Manager connection is in an UP state
Restart the SDDC Manager and/or vCenter appliance
Re-run the SDDC Manager upgrade pre-checks
*If after rebooting the SDDC and Compute Manager, the pre-check still fails, perform a rolling reboot of the nsx managers leaving the manager that is responsible for the VIP for last.
Additional Information
This issue can also be caused by stale connection information in the SDDC Manager or vCenter, if for example the Compute Manager in NSX has been in a DOWN state, which is why rebooting the SDDC Manager and/or vCenter appliances is recommended.
