Issue/Introduction

  • The segment has Edge Bridge configured.
  • The segment's Gateway Connectivity was disabled and re-enabled.
Gateway Connectivity toggle switch is at Networking > Segments.
  • Trigger bridge failover after Gateway Connectivity toggling.
  • Ping between VLAN and Overlay timed out after bridge failover.
  • Packet Capture file shows rarp packets are not sent to some transport nodes in the routing domain of the segment.
To capture packets on edge, "start capture interface fp-ethX" is available.

Environment

Cause

After gateway connectivity is toggled, L3 routing domain is not linked to the bridged segment.

RARP packets are not sent to the hosts and mac table on the hosts are not updated with new active edge TEP.

Resolution

Currently, there is no resolution.

To avoid connectivity issue, refrain from toggling gateway connectivity.

To recover from connectivity issue after failover, restart dataplane service on edge CLI.

> restart service dataplane

NOTE: Restarting dataplane service intermittently impacts datapath.
