VMware Infrastructure Health adapter triggers false alerts regarding app health of VMware cloud management plane products (vCenter, VIDM, Aria Operations for Logs).

Issue/Introduction

• App health is affected alerts are being triggered after upgrading to 8.16 version of Aria Operations. For example: "VIDM app health is affected", "Logs app health is affected", "vCenter app health is affected" alerts.

 

• Application|Availability (PING) metric value for the objects shows as 0 even though the endpoint products are working as expected and the ping connectivity from the collector nodes to the endpoints is successful.

 

• The below errors are seen in the VIH adapter logs:

VMware vRealize Operations 8.16.x

VMware Aria Operations 8.17.1 

Cause

This is a known issue affecting 8.16.x version of Aria Operations.

Resolution

This issue is resolved in VMware Aria Operations 8.17.1 version.
