Issue/Introduction

Broadcom is pleased to announce the availability of a new self-service Beta Program request workflow available on the Broadcom Support Portal.

This provides Enterprise Users the ability to request to join available Beta Program on eligible support products.

IMPORTANT: If you do not have a profile, click HERE for instructions on how to create one.

To sign-up for the VMware vSphere Foundation or VMware Cloud Foundation 9.0 Beta please reference the appropriate attached PDF guide for specific instructions related to these Beta Releases.

Resolution

To submit a request to join an available Beta Program please follow these steps:

  1. Log into the Broadcom Support Portal with your Enterprise User profile. Click HERE for instructions on how to create a profile.
  2. From the My Dashboard landing page click the Trial & Beta option from the left navigation menu.

  3. The default landing page will show My Trials. To view available Beta Programs, select the appropriate division from the drop-down menu and select the Beta tab and All Beta tab.

  4. Select the Request to join button, provide a brief description as to why you'd like to join the Beta Program and click Submit.

  5. The Request to join button will now change to Requested and your request will be submitted to our Beta Program Managers for approval. You will also receive the below email confirming your submission request.

  6. Once your request has been approved you'll receive a second email confirmation with further instructions.

  7. Once your Beta Program request has been approved the tile will change to Start Beta. Selecting Start Beta will initiate a $0 / 90 day contract.

  8. Clicking Start Beta and enter the site ID you would like to associate your Beta software with and the quantity.

NOTE: The quantity value is dependent on the support product setup (i.e. number of cores, number of licenses, etc., for example vSphere quantity is the total number of cores, i.e. 1).

  9. If after entering the site ID and quantity the Submit button is greyed out, this means an existing Beta provisioning request for the same product, quantity and site ID is currently pending. Please enter a different Quantity or wait 24 hours for any pending provisioning requests to process and try submitting your request again.

  10. Once the $0 / 90 day contract is fulfilled, the product tile will appear under the My Beta tab showing the expiration date along with quick links to download the software binaries and access your license keys.

  11. Once the Beta Program Manager adds you to the associated Beta Program Community, you will receive an email with instructions to login to the Broadcom Community to complete the onboarding process.

  12. Once authenticated to the Broadcom Community, click the Betas menu link to access the appropriate Beta community.

  13. If logging in for the first time, you'll be required to accept the Terms of Service after which you'll be redirected to the Beta Community homepage.

  14. Click on the active Beta you enrolled in to get to the target Beta Community.
  15. For additional instructions and helpful videos on how to get the most out of your community experience click on the Water Cooler link in the menu.
