Deactivate the NSX-T Manager Cluster fails.

Issue/Introduction

Depending of the failure scenario's,  when the detach node fail_node_uuid  or  deactivate cluster is ran

  • Following error could be seen:
nsx-node-01> deactivate cluster 
## ## ## ## ## UTC ##:##:##:##
% An error occurred while deactivating cluster on this node. Reason: [CBM238] Failed to deregister MPA with MP. Please make sure MP is stable, before retrying.
  • The logs at /var/log/cbm/cbm.log  reports the following messages
2023-04-26T23:31:17.908Z ERROR pool-14-thread-3 Task 6692 - [nsx@6876 comp="nsx-manager" errorCode="CBM238" level="ERROR" subcomp="cbm"] [CBM238] Failed to deregister MPA with MP. Please make sure MP is stable, before retrying.
com.vmware.nsx.cbm.exception.RetryException: com.vmware.nsx.cbm.exception.HttpClientException: Error making call to http://localhost:7440/nsxapi/api/v1/cluster?action=deregister_local_mpa, error message is General error has occurred.

Note: The preceding log excerpts are only examples. Date, time, and environmental variables may vary depending on your environment.

Cause

"deregister mpa" is a workflow that's part of detach or deactivate. If the proton is unavailable/down while this workflow is running, the error mentioned above will occur.
