On an Edge that has been activated and carries a configuration, access to the Edge's local Web UI is disabled by default. In order to allow local Web UI access, an IP address belonging to a local device must be allowed in the firewall configuration of the VMware SD-WAN Edge. This can be configured via Profile or the Edge.
This change must be done while the device is connected to the VMware SD-WAN Orchestrator. If the Edge is offline and the firewall configuration was not done prior, then a factory reset would be required to access the device.
At the Edge level, this is the screen you see under Configure->Edge->Firewall>Edge Access of the Orchestrator UI. Profile level would be similar except you are applying this exception across multiple Edges.
Note: If the Edge has not been activated, or was factory reset, the Local Web UI access will be enabled for all LAN hosts using the IP address 192.168.2.1.
Locate a VLAN IP address associated with the Edge interface you are connected to. This can be found on the Configure->Edge->Device screen and the look for Configure VLAN. In the below example the Edge uses just one VLAN and so the choice of VLAN IP's is straightforward, but the same goes for an Edge with multiple VLANs. As long as the interface you are connected to uses that VLAN, the VLAN IP Address will work.
The Graphic Local UI screen will come up but require you to enter in the Local Credentials for that Edge.
Note: Please check the Configure->Edge->Overview screen and in the "Properties" section you may view the Local Credentials for this Edge.
There is no need to find a VLAN IP address as the Edge is using factory settings and has no configuration. The default LAN IP is 192.168.2.1. Please enter that into a browser window.
3) On an unactivated Edge, you will need to click on a "review the configuration" link at the bottom of the page. This step is not needed for an activated Edge as you will be immediately taken to the Overview page.
4) On the Overview page do the following:
On an activated Edge, click on Details.
On an unactivated Edge, click on Details, and then Diagnostics.
5) On the next page, click on the "Download Diagnostic Bundle" button.
