Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

On vSAN ESA 8.0U2 enabling encryption on cluster may fail with the following message:

This operation is currently not available for vSAN ESA because of concurrent change to the cluster encryption configuration. The cluster is in an inconsistent state. Go to the Skyline Health page and remediate the inconsistent configuration.

But VC Skyline Health doesn't report any encryption warning to perform remediation.

Environment

VMware vSAN 8.0

Cause

The errors are due to vSAN health in 8.0U2 has a gap to report warning in certain cases that the cluster has unfinished encryption configuration changing operations.

Resolution

The issue is fixed in ESXi 8.0.2 P03 Build 23305546 later.
