Issue/Introduction

Identify and remediate the License key status for the VMware HCX or NSX license by sharing the steps for activating or getting the new valid license.

Symptoms:
This message shows up in the HCX Manager UI

Cause

License key status Inactive or possible cosmetic issue.

Resolution

Please confirm the validity of the License Key accessing see KB Download license keys for Broadcom, CA, Symantec, and VMware products :

If your License key is not listed in your Customer Connect or it is inactive, please feel free to engage your VMware Account Team or open a new non-technical case with the licensing team and select License Management to activate the license or get the new valid one.

NOTE: Please validate other production licenses like NSX as it could also be related to this behavior.

Once you have your license key activated or you got a new valid license key, please make sure that after the key was changed you either restarted the services on the manager or the manager itself restarted on both the connector and cloud sides. See KB HCX - How to restart HCX Manager services (93169)

If after validating both licenses in use for the HCX manager they are showing as "Active" in the Customer Connect portal the error message is still in the HCX manager UI, please open a new case with the support team as it could be a cosmetic issue with a workaround available.
