Cannot change the port group on vSwitch setting to “Inherit from vSwitch” on ESXi 7.0

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

• vSwitch port group cannot be changed to  “Inherit from vSwitch” on ESXi 7.0.
• Applying the change from ESXi Host UI does not reflect the changes.
• Applying the change from vCenter UI, it reverts back to previous settings once refreshing the vCenter page.

Environment

VMware vSphere ESXi 7.0.3
VMware vSphere ESXi 7.0.2

Resolution

This issue was resolved ESXi 7.0 Update 3o (Build 22348816)

 

Note: If you consider to update your environment prior to this 7.0 U3o, please also refer another KB  vSwitch (Standard Switches) teaming Load balancing change to port id after ESXi 7.0.3l update

 

Workaround:
To workaround this issue, please Override the Policy with the same settings as vSwitch, without using “Inherit from vSwitch”.

 

Note: Editing the configstore is not recommended.
