Duplicate Host Registration Events When Installing Connecting New Agents

Issue/Introduction

• Several machines are disconnected or not showing in the Console. 
• Dascli status shows Disconnected (Server Error). 
• Multiple Events in the Console for Duplicate Host Registrations. 

Environment

• App Control Server: All Supported Versions
• App Control Agent: All Supported Versions

Cause

The computers have identical host IDs usually caused by using an image with the Agent installed, but no template created in the Console. 

Resolution

1. Log in to the Console and navigate to Reports > Events.
2. Change the Saved View to "Duplicate Computer Registrations".
3. Click the computer name listed under the Source column. 
   • You only need to click into each computer name displaying these Events once. 
4. On the right hand panel, click "Re-Register Computer". 
5. This will cause each Agent to re-register at next check in.

Additional Information

If these machines are Citrix Clones, be sure to follow the proper procedure for creating a Template Computer.
