How are the Time Scale Values (TSV) settings expected to work in Clarity?
It's recommended to consider using the Modern User Experience (UX) where there are no boundaries on TSV per-period metrics.
See: Clarity: Staff a Project Team for more information.
There are external and internal slices that exist in Clarity. Internal slices are not exposed in the Administration > Data Administration > Time Slices page, due to potential performance issues. The internal slices feed various grid (time-varying) portlets in Clarity. By design, there will be a limited window of data to view, i.e
These data ranges may not be changed by end users. See "The time periods requested do not exist" Warning when moving to future or past periods on a TSV field for one approved extension that can be implemented.
Note: Make sure that the Datamart Extraction job runs on a nightly basis in order for the calendar-based portlets to populate.
2. The start date that is chosen, be it rolling or specific, must fall within the system-restricted date ranges. The current start date determines the total date range to view
3. From the Configure > Time-scaled value page, provide/review the following:
4. Use the following link as a reference to a calendar calculator:
https://www.timeanddate.com/date/dateadd.html
An example, using the weekly time-scaled view is: Given current start of week is: Monday, July 23, 2018
Clarity will calculate the viewable weekly range to be 2 weeks in the past, the current week + 13 weeks from the current week
which translates to the range: Monday, July 23, 2018 to Monday, October 21, 2018
An example, using a weekly time-scaled view with an offset is:
Clarity will calculate the viewable weekly range to be 2 weeks in the past, the current week + [offset] + 13 weeks from the current week which translates to the range:
[Monday, July 23 , 2018] + [-8 weeks] + 13 weeks into the future
which is [Monday, May 28, 2018] to [Sun, August 26, 2018]
Regarding aggregated totals, the data will automatically be set into the periods designated by the periods set in the Configure > Time-scaled Value menu.
The results will be automatically converted. In the example below, the weekly hours 40 + 40 + 40 + 40 + 16 = 176
