Issue/Introduction

After upgrading some client machines to Windows 11, they are showing gray (inactive) in the GSS console when they are active.

The customer tried to restart the client and also tried re-installing the client on the affected PCs but the status does not change. 

Environment

GSS 3.3 RU11

Resolution

  1. The most common reason why a computer may be grayed out on the GSS Console is because they are not able to reach back to the GSS server. Usually firewall ports are closed. Please refer to:
    169520 "TCP/UDP ports required in Ghost Solution Suite 3.X"

  2. Another thing to consider:
    Network adapter problem.
    GSS 3.3 RU11 only inventories active adapters, so if a machine switches to a wireless adapter, for example, a new record is created.
    Try the fix mentioned in this KB (if you are running GSS 3.3 RU11) on one Win11 client machine and see if that helps:
