Issue/Introduction

Symantec Endpoint Encryption's Drive Encryption functionality includes the ability to enable audio cues to help with those visually impaired.

This makes it easier to navigate the preboot screen when a system is first started.  A series of beeps are used to identify different actions performed within this functionality.

Environment

Symantec Endpoint Encryption does have Audio cues and increased functionality for the visually impaired.

Surface Pro systems do not work because they are missing a System Speaker.

Platforms using the Soundwire audio interface may need additional functionality to work properly.

To request this functionality, reach out to  Symantec Encryption Support for further guidance.

NOTE: The UEFI - audio beeps feature is not supported on Microsoft Surface Pro systems.

Resolution

The UEFI - audio beeps feature is not supported on Microsoft Surface Pro systems.
