Issue/Introduction

This cumulative point fix contains fixes for SMP (Symantec Management Platform) and other Solutions for issues provided to customers with ITMS 8.7 RTM until next ITMS version is released/installed.

SMP/SMA (Symantec Management Platform/Symantec Management Agent) Fixes:

Symantec Management Agent crashes after upgrading with Unified agent upgrade policy.	259436

Deployment Solution: Quick Installer fails with "user cancelled" messages	N/A
AexSVC is utilizing high memory - Due to websockets/persistent connections 'handlers' issues	N/A
AexSVC is utilizing high memory - updated
Atrshost service high memory consumption - Due to websockets/persistent connections 'handlers' issues
SiteTransfer register operations do not commit transactions	264600

ITMS 8.7 Slow performance
The agent is not installing in DS 8.7 unattended installation
Impossible to manually uninstall SMA using AeXNSAgent.exe /uninstall
The Client Task Server restarting every hour due to WebSocket issues. Task Server Connection: Failed to register on Task Server 'TaskServer.example.com' over 'http', error: HTTP status 403: The client does not have sufficient access rights (0x8FA10193)
Client Task Agent can't register using persistent connection/websocket with Remote Task Server
Software Portal first page is not opening
Remote Task Server committed memory grows when persistent connections are enabled
CTA re-registers with remote TS only if task is scheduled with option Allow user to postpone
SMA on SMP unable to get policies
Inventory Solution Licenses Not Being Released
The original target empty after editing the cloned target
AD Import computers rule imports some computers with name like PCNAME$ Note for this Pointfix: If the Customer would like to return all previously AD imported computers name without $, then need to manually execute this SQL Query below: update d set d.[ItemName] = SUBSTRING(d.[ItemName], 1, LEN(d.[ItemName]) - 1) from Inv_Global_Active_Directory_Details dd join ItemResourceType irt on irt.Guid = dd._ResourceGuid join ItemString d on d.ItemGuid = irt.Guid and d.CultureId = 0 where d.[ItemName] like '%$'    Or perform "Full AD Computers import" rule to update imported computer names to remove $ in their names.
Communication Profile is not being created for a new Site Server

TS (Task Server) Fixes:

Atrshost service high memory consumption -  Due to websockets/persistent connections 'handlers' issues Note:  This point fix only needs to be installed on remote Task Server(s) to address the Atrshost service high memory consumption issue if persistent connections are being used.  If persistent connections are being used, both SMA_SMP_8_7_POST_RTM_v10_17Oct2023.zip (or later. See above) and TS_8_7_POST_RTM_v4_20Sep2023.zip need to be applied to fully address the issue.  If persistent connections are not being used, only SMA_SMP_8_7_POST_RTM_v10_17Oct2023.zip (or later) needs to be installed.

Install instructions:
The pointfix available in TS_8_7_POST_RTM_v4_20Sep2023.zip is for remote Task Servers and it must be installed on all remote task servers manually by running pfinstaller2.exe  

SMF (Software Management Framework) Fixes:

MD Policy shown as compliant after remediation, even if compliance rule will always return 'not detected'

It is not pointfix but a new version available that you may want to consider for an updated 64-bit ipxe.efi (ipxe v1.21.1+) binaries signed by Microsoft:
