Issue/Introduction

I am unable to clear UIM Alarms

It return error: "Alarm action(s) failed to perform"

however as per documentation I should be able to clear UIM alarms: https://techdocs.broadcom.com/us/en/ca-enterprise-software/it-operations-management/digital-operational-intelligence/22-1/using/alarm-analytics.html

 

Environment

DX OI 21.3, 22.1

Resolution

When the "Southbound Gateway" configuration is enabled, then if OI gets a success response from UIM, then only the alarm in OI will be cleared, otherwise the alarm will not be cleared in OI.

Recommendations:

a) Ensure Southbound gateway is configured correctly and UIM API endpoint is available and working as expected

b) Review the doi-integrationgateway integrationgateway.log, there should not be any error, below an example of 500 error indicating a problem with UIM API:

 

NOTE:

Disabling the "Southbound Gateway" configuration should allow you to clear the UIM alarms, however due to OI defect DE556853 alarms cannot be cleared.

This is a defect in OI 23.1 and 22.1 but to be fixed in the next release.
