Issue/Introduction

While running a Compare Config MC job against several Edge SWG (formerly ProxySG) proxies within your environment you notice the "flags" value differs and would like to determine the cause. This article details the configuration attributes that are reflected by the "flags" value within the $.IP segment of a Compare Config output.

Resolution

The value for this attribute corresponds to the IP configuration of the appliance. For example, a value of 19 indicates the appliance is using the built in New Reno as the TCP congestion control algorithm, IP forwarding is disabled, and RFC 1323 is enabled.

To remediate any differences, first validate the following IP configurations on the appliances being compared:

  • Determine if IP forwarding is disabled or enabled.
  • Determine if RFC 1323 is enabled or disabled.
