"Error 1709 Scheduled Scan resume failed" when running a DLP Network Discover scan on a Sharepoint site

Issue/Introduction

Three scans are scheduled nightly.
They ran as scheduled, but they did not complete.
The Enforce logs contain this error:

Error: 1709
Title: Scheduled scan resume failed
Description: Scheduled suspension failed for scan of Discover target {0}. {1}
Detail: Scheduled suspension failed for scan of Discover target Sharepoint Sites Bundle. Failed to contact the scan manager. Make sure Vontu Monitor Controller service is running.

Environment

Release : 15.x

Resolution

  1. Restart the "Symantec DLP Detection Server Service" on the Discover Server.
  2. Then restart the Enforce Server services.
    Restart DLP Enforce services in the correct order
