Issue/Introduction

We are setting up a new environment for UIM - I have configured primary and secondary hubs as well as the IM console. Now I need to setup the OC.

Can we use a Linux server as the OC server? The installation notes I found only mentions Windows - which we do not use in our other UIM environments.

Also, do we run the OC installer from the primary hub or the OC server?

Environment

Release : 20.3

Component :

Resolution

The Operator Console (OC) can be installed on a Linux machine, see 'Console mode' here at this link.

Install Operator Console (OC)

https://techdocs.broadcom.com/us/en/ca-enterprise-software/it-operations-management/unified-infrastructure-management/20-3/installing/Install-Operator-Console-(OC).html

Run the installer from the Primary hub but carefully choose your designated OC robot NOT the Primary Hub robot.

For example, the Linux command is:

 ./oc-installer_linux.bin -i console

Run the installer as root.
