Issue/Introduction

Is it possible to install the Operator console (OC) on a Linux server if all UIM components (UIMServer, hubs, etc.) are running on Windows servers?

Only OC would run on the Linux server.

Is this set up compatible / supported?

Environment

  • DX UIM 20.x / 23.x or later

Cause

  • Guidance

Resolution

Yes, the Operator Console (OC) can be installed on a Linux robot when all other components are installed on Windows.

1. Install a robot on the Linux server

2. Run the OC installer on the Primary hub and make sure you select the Linux robot.

IMPORTANT NOTE: You must use "SQL Authentication" for data_engine/UIM if you are connecting to a MSSQL database and not "Windows Authentication."

Windows Authentication requires the robot to be logged in to the system as a Domain User which has access to the database which is not possible on Linux robots.
