Ghost Solution Suite のブートディスクを使用した、イメージの取得および復元手順について説明します。
もしネットワークを使用してクローニングをお考えの場合でも一度USBデバイスにイメージを取得し、復元まで確認されることを強くお勧めします。

Resolution

I. イメージ取得手順

  1. 取得元のマシンをブートディスクで起動する
  2. Ghostが起動したら、OKボタンをクリックし、オープニング画面を閉じる 


  3. メニュー画面で、[Local] > [Disk] > [To Image] をクリック


  4. [Select local source drive by clicking on the drive number] 画面でローカルのドライブを選択し、OKをクリック

    • ディスクが1つの場合、通常 Drive「1」がローカルドライブになります。Drive「80」OS Volumes は選択しないでください。

  5. [File name to copy image to] 画面で、"Look in" からイメージの保存先を選択する

    • USB外付けハードディスクドライブなどを選択します。

  6. "File name" でイメージの名前を入力し、[Save] ボタンをクリック 


  7. [Compress Image] 画面で、圧縮形式を選択

    • [No] : 圧縮なし
    • [Fast] : 速度と圧縮率のバランスがとれたモード (推奨)
    • [High] : 速度より圧縮率を優先したモード

  8. [Question] "Proceed with Image File Creation?" 画面で「Yes]を選択すると、イメージ作成がスタート 


  9. [Progress Indicator] が0%から100%まで進み、「Image Creation Completed Successfully」と 表示されたら、[Continue] ボタンをクリック


  10. 「Quit」でGhost を終了する

  11. ブートディスクを取出し、コマンドプロンプトで「wpeutil shutdown」と入力し、シャットダウンする

 

 

II. イメージ復元手順

  1. 復元先のマシンをブートディスクで起動
  2. Ghostが起動したら、OKボタンをクリック 、オープニング画面を閉じる 


  3. メニュー画面で、[Local] > [Disk] > [From Image] をクリック 


  4. [Image file name to restore from] 画面で、"Look in" から復元するイメージを選択

    • USB外付けハードディスクドライブを選択します。

  5. "File name" でイメージファイルを選択し、[Open] ボタンをクリック


  6. [Select local destination drive by clicking on the drive number] 画面で、イメージの復元先ドライブを選択 

    • ディスクが1つの場合、通常 Drive「1」がローカルドライブになります。Drive「80」OS Volumes は選択しないでください。

  7. [Destination Drive Details] 画面では、パーティション情報が表示されるので、そのまま「OK」ボタンをクリック 


  8. [Question (1822)] 画面で、「Yes」を選択すると復元が開始


  9. [Progress Indicator] が0%から100%まで進み、「Clone Completed Successfully」 が表示されたら、  [Continue] ボタンをクリック



  10. 「Quit」でGhost を終了する

  11. ブートディスクを取出し、コマンドプロンプトで「wpeutil shutdown」と入力し、シャットダウンする

Additional Information

  • Ghost Solution Suite に含まれるインストーラについて
  • イメージ取得手順の項目4または、イメージ復元手順の項目6にてローカルドライブが表示されない場合はストレージドライバーの不足によりドライブが認識できていません。ブートディスクへドライバーの追加が必要になります。

  • DVD 等のメディアタイプに関して明示的な制限はありませんが、DVD-RW などの追記可能ディスクでディスクの消去を行ってもメディアの仕様上、実際のデータが削除されません。
    このため、Ghost は ブランクディスクと認識しないため、以下のエラーが発生する可能性があります。
    必ず、新規のブランクメディアの利用を推奨とさせていただきます。

Image Acquisition and Restoration Procedures - Ghost Solution Suite

Overview

This article provides step-by-step instructions for acquiring and restoring disk images using a Ghost Solution Suite (GSS) boot disk. This procedure is specifically for users of Ghost Standard Tools. Broadcom strongly recommends first capturing an image to a local USB device and verifying the restoration before attempting cloning over a network.

Prerequisites

  • Sysprep Requirement: If you intend to use Sysprep for cloning, it must be executed on the source machine with the "Shutdown" option before booting from the Ghost disk. Sysprep cannot be run within the WinPE environment [33473193].
  • Supported File Systems: External storage media must be formatted as NTFS, FAT32, or FAT16. The exFAT file system is not supported [217344].

Environment

  • Products: Ghost Solution Suite 3.3, Ghost Standard Tools
  • Operating Systems: Windows 10, Windows 11 (see Note), Windows Server 2016, 2019, 2022
  • Note for Windows 11 23H2: If you encounter Error 25002 (Internal Inconsistency), refer to KB 373912 to obtain an updated ghost64.exe [35572274].

I. Image Acquisition Procedure

  1. Boot the source machine using the Ghost boot disk.
  2. When Ghost launches, click OK to close the opening screen.
  3. Navigate to Local > Disk > To Image.
  4. In the Select local source drive screen, select the local drive and click OK.
    • Caution: Typically, the local drive is Drive "1". Do not select "Drive 80 OS Volumes."
  5. In the File name to copy image to screen, use the "Look in" dropdown to select your destination (e.g., an external USB drive).
  6. Enter a file name and click Save.
    • Tip: Avoid ending file names with numbers to prevent spanning errors [217344].
  7. In the Compress Image screen, select the compression type:
    • No: No compression.
    • Fast: Balanced speed and compression (Recommended).
    • High: Maximum compression, slower speed.
  8. At the prompt Proceed with Image File Creation?, select Yes.
  9. Once the Progress Indicator reaches 100% and displays Image Creation Completed Successfully, click Continue.
  10. Select Quit to exit Ghost.
  11. Remove the boot disk and enter wpeutil shutdown in the command prompt to power off.

II. Image Restoration Procedure

  1. Boot the destination machine using the Ghost boot disk.
  2. Click OK to close the opening screen.
  3. Navigate to Local > Disk > From Image.
  4. In the Image file name to restore from screen, select your image file and click Open.
  5. In the Select local destination drive screen, select the target drive and click OK.
    • Caution: Do not select "Drive 80 OS Volumes."
  6. Review the Destination Drive Details and click OK.
  7. At the prompt Question (1822) - Proceed with disk restore?, select Yes.
  8. Once the Progress Indicator reaches 100% and displays Clone Completed Successfully, click Continue.
  9. Select Quit to exit Ghost.
  10. Remove the boot disk and enter wpeutil shutdown to power off.
