Issue/Introduction

Although the Enforce Server licenses are good, DLP shows as expired and is not enforcing new policies.

Attempting to install new license files has the same result.

Cause

In rare situations where there have been many licenses used throughout the years, a new license does not reflect until the old ones are removed.

Resolution

  1. Stop DLP Services on the Enforce Server
  2. Browse to <drive>:\ProgramData\Symantec\DataLossPrevention\EnforceServer\<DLP version>\license
  3. Move all of the .slf files to a new location
  4. Start the DLP services in the correct order according to Article Id: 159970
  5. Login to the Enforce Console and browse to System > Settings > General > Select the Configure button.
  6. Scroll down to License. Select the Browse button to add the new license (.slf).
  7. Select the Save button at the top of the page.
  8. Restart the DLP services on the Enforce Server in order to apply the new license.
