Over allocation - Can this be prevented?

Issue/Introduction

Can users be prevented from overallocating resources to a project? (Example, not be able to allocate resources double their availability)

Is there any options outside the warning message that comes up? If there is nothing out of the box, can it be done programmatically, and if so, will it be supported by Broadcom?

Resolution

There's no supported option / out of the box that could prevent this. The only options would be to:

• Use a report such as Over/Under Allocation by Resource
• An out of the box portlet Clarity Portlets Reference - Resource Managers
• Create a custom portlet to capture over allocations to correct
• Use of the existing warning messages in Clarity: Overallocation Notification / Warning
