Issue/Introduction

Nimsoft Infrastructure install and uninstall fails with the following error

"An installation support file could not be installed. Catastrophic failure

 

Environment

Release : UIM 20.x.x 

Component : UIM - HUB

Cause

This is a known MS Windows issue when the temporary install files get corrupted.

Resolution

This Install/Uninstall issue can be resolved by deleting the C:\Program Files (x86)\InstallShield Installation Information\{#####...} that corresponds to the Infrastructure Manager app, followed by a server reboot.

The above folder can be validated by viewing the C:\Program Files (x86)\InstallShield Installation Information\{#####...}\setup.ini file
