When accessing the local console in Symantec Protection Engine (SPE) with internet explorer 64-bit, you get a blank page. You have the appropriate version of Java installed (see the Java Support Matrix), have ensured that Protection Engine is running and listening on the appropriate port.
You are missing the registry entry from the bottom of the Browser Support Matrix, the registry entry is incorrect, or IE settings have changed or become corrupted.
Add the following TabProcGrowth registry setting for internet explorer.
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\MAIN]
"TabProcGrowth"=dword:00000000
You can do the following to add this via Regedit. Make a backup of your registry before performing the following steps
After adding the registry setting, close internet explorer and try again.
Note: It must be a DWORD. Any other data type (such as string) will not work. If it already exists as a String, it must be removed and recreated as a DWORD.
If the above does not work, you may need to reset Internet Explorer's settings back to default to allow it to load the java applet.
