You would like to know what versions of Java are supported by Symantec Protection Engine (SPE) for Network Attached Storage (NAS) 9.x and Symantec Protection Engine (SPE) for Cloud Services (CS) 9.x.
SPE 9.x
The supported Java environment for Symantec Protection Engine (SPE) is 64-bit Java Runtime Environment (JRE) version 17 or later, with OpenJDK Java also being supported from the SPE 9.0 release onwards. It is highly recommended that you use the latest available JRE/JDK version to ensure you have the most up-to-date security against known vulnerabilities.
Please note that Java is only required if you plan to utilize the REST API service and the SPE console.
