CA Virtual Privilege Manager CA Privileged Identity Management Endpoint (PIM) CA Privileged Access Manager - Server Control (PAMSC)

Issue/Introduction

What is ca_lic and is it required to install PIM or PAMSC endpoints on Linux?

Environment

Privileged Identity Manager 12.8 SP1
PAM Server Control 14.x

Resolution

In older versions of PIM, it was required to install the license file, ca_lic, prior to installing the endpoint on Linux. However, as of version 12.8 SP1 for PIM or 14.0 for PAMSC, this file is no longer needed. If it already is installed, it can be removed without causing any loss of functionality.

To do so please follow the procedure as explained here

But you can also leave the ca_lic in place if it does not concern you.

For compatibility reasons, PIM 12.8 SP1 still deploys ca_lic, even it is not utilized.
PAMSC 14.x does not deploy ca_lic at all.
