CA Privileged Access Manager (PAM) CA Privileged Access Manager - Cloakware Password Authority (PA)

Issue/Introduction

After deploying a new PAM appliance, a license needs to be generated. How can a PAM license be generated?

Resolution

The appliance's Hardware ID is required in order to generate a PAM license. To get the Hardware ID, log into PAM with an administrator, click System Info in the upper right corner of the page, then click the Hardware Identifiers tab. The ID can be copied to the clipboard using the icon on the right.

After copying the Hardware ID, use KB145804 - Download license keys for Broadcom, CA, Symantec, and VMware products to generate a license from the Broadcom site.

Additional Information

If there is an issue generating the license or the license generated does not match the existing licenses in the cluster, open a case with the licensing team.

Prior to opening the case, please generate a sysinfo file by logging into PAM, clicking System Info in the upper right, and selecting the down arrow all the way to the right.

From the Support portal, select case management.

Now select create a new case, by click on “Create Case”

For the product (#1), you will select Licensing-CA, fill all the required fields as needed and click on submit.

Once you have created the case, upload the sysinfo file.
