Issue/Introduction

What is the default log retention period of the PGP Encryption Server (Symantec Encryption Management Server), and can you change this retention value?

Resolution

The default log-retention period for the PGP Encryption Server is 30 days.

You can manually export the logs regularly or enable external logging to a Syslog server to have these logs available for a longer duration, but when stored locally, 30 days is the max.

This value can be adjusted, but is a manual adjustment.  If you need to extend this period, reach out to Symantec Encryption Support for further guidance.
