Mail routes apply to all email processed by PGP\Symantec Gateway Email Encryption. For PGP Encryption Encryption Desktop (Symantec Encryption Desktop) Email, mail routes apply only to messages generated by (Symantec Encryption Management Server) and sent to internal users.
Mail routing is used to establish static mail routes that override the DNS MX-record lookup normally used when determining where to route mail. In certain instances, this can provide a more efficient route, bypassing the loop through DMZ and the firewall.
