Issue/Introduction

 Does ITMS still require Silverlight?

ITMS 8.5 RU3

Resolution

Symantec has been incrementally replacing portions of the IT Management Suite console that are dependent on Microsoft Silverlight and will continue to do so in future releases.

In the ITMS 8.5 RU3 release, dependencies on Microsoft Silverlight are mostly gone, if not all gone. You can now use Google Chrome to access the Symantec Management Console on Windows computers.
The following functionalities of the Activity Center no longer require Microsoft Silverlight:

• Silverlight use removed from Management Views & Network Topology components:
  • Console settings
  • Computers View
  • Software View
  • Policies View
  • Jobs and Tasks View

Replacement, if any, is expected to be completed by the time that Microsoft ends support for Silverlight. Please refer to:

Post-8.6:

Does the IT Management Suite Console still require Silverlight?

The IT Management Suite Console starting with the 8.6 Release no longer requires Silverlight.
