MSP tasks updating from 'Completed' to 'Not Started'

Issue/Introduction

Tasks on your project are changing unexpectedly (on their own) from 'Completed' to 'Not Started' (Closed to Opened) when exporting from Clarity. Another symptom noticed may be that the task % Complete is changing from 100% to 0% when using MSP.

Component : CLARITY MICROSOFT PROJECT (MSP)

Cause

This issue is due to settings in MSP not being set to the recommended setting in working with Clarity. For a full list of required and recommended settings, see: Configure default settings in MSP to use with Clarity

Resolution

Make sure the following settings are set for the project in MSP:

• 'Updating Task Status Updates Resource Status' is unchecked
• 'Calculate project after each edit' is set to On

To check these:

1. Open the impacted project in MSP
2. Go to File->Options->Schedule
3. Validate that both of the settings above are set as listed
