I created or updated a work item and I am using global search to look for text within that work item. Search does not return this recently created/updated work item.
Keywords: search
For performance reasons the global search function does not search the production database directly, instead it searches an Index. To update that index - changes are queued up and then data is ingested - this can lead to a lag in data being made available to search. This lag can be a few seconds or minutes (most of the time) to several hours (rarely) depending on the amount of activity in the database (by all users).
NOTE: Make sure "Default Project" setting is not missing from the user’s profile. This setting is essential for several core functionalities in Rally, including global search, widgets, Work views, and query filtering.
We continue to monitor and improve the efficiency of this process. If you are not finding your recent changes, it is likely that the search index has not ingested those changes. You can try the search again in a few minutes and hopefully your data is available in the search index. If you are still not able to find what you are looking for in the search the next day, please open a case with us so we can investigate.
