WINDOWS INSTALLER EDITOR: When adding C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\ as a Registry value it is being replaced with AppDataFolder instead of CommonAppDataFolder
Updated On:15-05-2008 09:14
When inputting a path such as C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\ as a registry value, it is not replaced with the property CommonAppDataFolder as expected. Instead it is replaced with AppDataFolder.
<P>1. Create a new .WSI<BR>2. Add registry key with the following values:<BR> Operation: Create/update key and value <BR> Root: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE<BR> Key: Software\test<BR> Value Name: test<BR> Data Value: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data<BR> Data Type: String<BR>3. Click OK. <BR><BR>After clicking OK, the value is replaced with [AppDataFolder]. However, the AppDataFolder property resolves to the Application Data folder for the current user and not for All Users.<BR></P>
<P>This has been fixed for Wise Package Studio 7 SP3 and will be fixed for the next release of Wise Installation Studio.<BR><BR>Workaround: Manually change the value from [AppDataFolder] to [CommonAppDataFolder]</P><br/><p><b>Applies To</b><br/>Wise for Windows Installer 6.x<BR>Wise Installation Studio 7.0<BR>Wise Package Studio 7.0
