With the Security Tab, you can view the status of your device with SEPC's health report.
Note: "Last Scan" will report the most recent manual scans. Idle scans will continuously run as the Automatic Scans are turned on. Idle scans will continue to scan the device but not be reported here or in the SEPC management portal.
1) How do I perform as Quick Scan with Symantec Endpoint Protection Cloud (SEPC) for MAC? How do I perform a Full System Scan with SEPC for MAC?
In the Scans tab, you can select between the Full System Scans, Quick Scans, and/or File Scanning.
When selecting a file to scan, you can drag and drop a file/folder to be scanned.
2) How do I perform a Live Update with SEPC for MAC?
Once you have selected the LiveUpdate tab, you can then select "check for updates" to force the virus definitions to update as well as allow the SEPC agent to manually upgrade to the next version if available. Note: this agent upgrade may require a reboot to complete installation of the upgraded agent.
3) The Advanced Tab allows the user to view their firewall activities, network connections, security history, and adjust the product settings all in one place.
Selecting "Protect My Mac", "Firewall", or "Product Settings" will allow you to turn on/off different features of SEPC. When selecting the "Activity" tab, you can then select between Security History and Network Activity.
In the Security History, you can view Application Blocking, Connection Blocking, Vulnerability Protection, Threat Detections, Virus Scans, Quarantine, and Unresolved Risk. Within each section, you can select/highlight specific events and actions taken against files, attempted connections, or virus detections.
Note: In Connection Blocking, you can right click an event to "trust address" or "block address" or "stop trusting address" to revert a trusted address from before. This will white list the address or port locally for the device. Right clicking an event in any of these subtabs will allow you to perform additional administrative actions. Double clicking an event will open an new window to show you more details concerning the event.
In Network Connection, you can view connections into and out of your Mac. The subtabs are "Into my Mac", "Out of my Mac", "Listening", "Applications", and "Services & Ports".
