You experience a Bug Check 0x133 (DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION) on a system with Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP).
In general this stop code is caused by faulty driver code that under certain conditions, does not complete its work within the allotted time frame.
In most of the instances of this issue that have been reported to us, the root cause was found to be an outdated version of a third-party driver. In some cases, an updated version of the driver was available via the hardware vendor's web site. In others, the hardware vendor had to be contacted directly for an update.
Whenever this issue occurs, in addition to making sure the operating system is fully up-to-date in terms of Windows Updates, it is always recommended to first install all the latest drivers available via the hardware vendor's web site. If that should not resolve the issue, consider upgrading to the latest version of SEP, to ensure all SEP drivers are the latest and greatest. If the issue continues to occur, contact Symantec for further support.
