Bypass mode is an operational state in which the PacketShaper connects the Inside and Outside Ethernet ports directly to each other, essentially behaving like a piece of cable. By default, the appliance enters bypass mode when PacketShaper loses power for some reason, for example, due to a power outage or unit failure.
With PacketShaper's default bypass settings, if an appliance loses power, relays should close on a NIC to allow user traffic to pass unhindered between the two interfaces. However, in some 11.x releases, the Power Off bypass feature on the S200 and S400 is not working. It does not pass traffic when the unit is powered OFF.
