Installing Symantec Endpoint Encryption Server (SEEMS) fails, producing a SEEMSDb error.
SEEMS error window: Error executing database [SEEMSDb] creation script: database [SEEMSDb] creation failed The CREATE DATABASE statement failed. The primary file must be at least 1024 MB to accommodate a copy of the model database. Changed database context to 'master'.
This message is generated by the SQL Server engine. For Microsoft SQL 2008 R2 and SQL 2012 a primary file needs a minimum capacity of 3 MB to receive a copy of the Model database and create a SQL Server database successfully for the SEEMS. The new databases will start out no smaller than the Model database. When we create a new database, SQL server uses Model DB as a template. SQL server doesn't like to create a database that is smaller than their Model DB. Since the customer has it set to 1024 MB (not the default value) and we were trying to create a larger database, the SQL server displayed the mentioned error.

In this particular instance, change the Model database size from 1024 MB (or whatever higher value that you may be using) to 3 MB. Restart the installation process and it should finish creating the SEEMSDb database successfully.
1. Open Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio
2. Under Databases> System Databases, right-click on Model and open Properties.
3. Under 'Files', change the 'Initial Size (MB)' to 3. Click OK.
