When migrating from a legacy authentication solution to the VIP Service, you must designate a delegated server to handle authentication requests.
You can forward validation requests to a delegated server when a validation server cannot successfully authenticate a request. If you specify a delegation server, validation requests are sent to the delegate server under the following circumstances:
– The user is not in the User Store. See “Configuring User Stores” on page 43.
– The user does not exist in the VIP Authentication Service.
– The user exists in the VIP Authentication Service, but has no bound credentials.
In order to test the delegation server you would sent the request as you would normally send delegation server should handle/ forwards the request to Symantec.
