You see ODBC errors when opening MS Acceess, MS Excel, or MS Word documents where Symantec Endpoint Protection Small Business Edition (Cloud) is installed.

Proactive Exploit Protection caused a conflict with the ODBC driver.
The issue has been resolved through an engine update for Client IDS, version 15.1.1.
To ensure that you are on the latest driver:
1. Navigate to C:\Program Files\Symantec.cloud\EndpointProtectionAgent\NortonData\126.96.36.199\Definitions\IPSDefs.
2. Open the most recently dated directory (e.g. 20160524.004).
3. Open IDSVix86.inf in a text reader.
4. Verify that the version is equal to or greater than 15.1.1.
