The default Blacklisted Applications policy and any other Application Metering policies no longer can be opened and show an error page. This problem has been observed with Inventory Solution 7.6.
A problem with installation or upgrading resulted in permissions being lost on Inventory folders and files.
Find the Inventory folder which by default is at C:\Program Files\Altiris\Inventory. Right-click on the folder, go to Security tab, and add Full Control Permissions for the Application Identity (AppID) account. Click Advanced and then click Enable inheritance. Save all the changes and then check the permissions on all the sub folders. Inheritance may not fix the permissions properly but if it does open Symantec Installation Manager find and select Altiris inventory Solution 7.6, then click Repair.
If the permissions cannot be fixed, Inventory Solution will have to be uninstalled from Symantec Installation Manager, then the C:\Program Files\Altiris\Inventory folder will have to be deleted or renamed, and finally Inventory Solution will have to be reinstalled through Symantec Installation Manager.
