After upgrading the Endpoint Agent, do I need to reboot the agent machines for the changes to take effect?
There are three scenarios:
1. A reboot of the agent machine is NOT required for a major update.
2. A reboot MAY be required with an uninstall of a previous agent and reinstall same version of agent without machine reboot. 3. In case of minor upgrade, for example, 11.1.1 to v11.1.2, we RECOMMEND a reboot because the TDI driver name is the same. If we have fixed a critical issue in latest version of the driver, it may not be updated until a reboot is completed since the TDI driver cannot be stopped and remains in use. As a consequence, an old image of the driver remains in memory and no reboot message is shown.
